Clipboard - Learn how to create a clipboard using Photoshop.
Introduction: In this tutorial I will explain how to create a clipboard using Adobe Photoshop CS2. It is a simple process using custom shapes and some blending options.
 



Part1: Setting up the workspace and creating the backboard.

Ok, let us get started. Create a new image using the dimension  800 x 600. Set the background color to white. You can change the background depending on you web site color. Create a new layer, Layerarrow Newarrow Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N). Name the layer "Backboard". Using the Rounded Rectangle Tool create a rectangle using the dimensions below. Change the foreground color to #5c330b

With that, you should have the effect below.

Right click on the rectangle layer and click Blending Options. Now add the Blending Options setting below.

Create a new layer, Layerarrow Newarrow Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N). Name the layer "Paper1" This layer has to be under the two on top layer.

Using the rectangle Tool rectangle Tool, create the rectangle shown above. Click on the Chop Tool Chop Tool and right click on the paper, click Free Transform and turn the paper a little to get the effect below.

Create a new layer, Layerarrow Newarrow Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N). Name the layer "Paper2" Create this to get the effect shown below.

Part2: Creating the clips for the clipboard.

Create a new layer, Layerarrow Newarrow Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N). Name the layer "holder" Click on the "Custom Shape Tool" Custom Shape Tool from the shape window select the shape shown below. The arrow will be pointing to the right, using the Chop Tool Chop Tool and right click on the paper, click Free Transform, position the arrow as shown below.

Cut the bottom part of the arrow off and position it as shown below. The color does not matter at this point.

Right click on the Holder layer, click Blending Options. Now add the Blending Options setting below.

Click ok, when you are finished

Create a new layer, Layerarrow Newarrow Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N). Name the layer "clamp"  Select the shape shown below.

and create an oval shape to get the effect below. Using the Rectangle Marquee Tool Marquee Tool cut part of the oval off the get the effect below.

Right click on the clamp layer, click Blending Options. Now add the Blending Options setting below.

Click ok, when you are finished. With, that you should have the effect below.

Part3: Creating the ring.
Create a new layer, Layerarrow Newarrow Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N). Name the layer "ring" Position it as shown in the image below.

Right click on the ring layer, click Blending Options. Now add the Blending Options setting below.

Part4: Adding some effect to the paper.

Click on the Line Tool linetool 1 pixel using this color #8dc1d6 and draw couple lines to give the effect of note book paper.

Yesterday on the 15th of October my gallery went down for some unknown reason. I was able to get the backup of the images, i just lost all the users. The gallery was not that active but i am sill pissed about what happened. I am in the process of reloading the gallery.
