Floating Tag - Learn how to create a floating tag effect.
Introduction: Ever wonder how to give your images the effect of it lifting off the page? follow this tutorial and learn how to do it, Its a simple effect using shadows. If you are having problems feel free to e-mail us, or post a message on the forum.
 


Step1: Setting up your work space.
Create a new image using the dimension  800 x 600. Set the background color to white. Create a new layer, LayerNew Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N).  Set the foreground color to #94e803

Step2: Creating the rectangle and the shadow.
Click on the Rounded Rectangular Tool and create the rectangle below.

Create a new layer, LayerNew Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N). Make sure this layer in under the button layer. Click on the Polygonal Lasso Tool using the setting below

Create the Lasso below

Click on the Paint Bucket and fill the selection with black, as shown below.

Click on the shadow layer and change the Opacity to 32% as shown below.

Finished:
That is it. Hope it came out to what you expected.

News Update [10/16/07]
Yesterday on the 15th of October my gallery went down for some unknown reason. I was able to get the backup of the images, i just lost all the users. The gallery was not that active but i am sill pissed about what happened. I am in the process of reloading the gallery.
