Navigation Menu - Learn how to create a clean navigation menu.
Introduction: In this tutorial I will teach you how to create a very simple navigation menu. Its a clean navigation that you can use of you web site. I created this using the rounded rectangle and triangles for the bullets.

Learn how to create the navigation menu above.

Part1: Setting up the workspace and creating the backboard.
Ok, let us get started. Create a new image using the dimension  800 x 600. Set the background color to white. You can change the background depending on you web site color. Create a new layer, Layerarrow Newarrow Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N). Name the layer "Menu". Using the Rounded Rectangle Tool create a rectangle using the dimensions below. Change the foreground color to #ececec

With that, you should have the effect below.

Create a new layer, Layerarrow Newarrow Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N). Name the layer "Line1". Click on the Line Tool change the foreground color to #dadad

Using the setting, draw a line as shown below.

Line1 (#dadad9)

Create a new layer, Layerarrow Newarrow Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N). Name the layer "Line2". Click on the Line Tool change the foreground color to #ffffff. Draw another line under the previous one, to get the effect shown below.

Line 2 (#FFFFFF)

Click on Line 1 and Line 2 to select them as shown below.

Line 1& 2 selected

Press (Ctrl+E) to merge them and duplicate (Ctrl+J) the layers and position it to get the effect shown below.

Menu

Part2: Adding text and the bulletins.
Now to add some text.

Click on the custom shape tool and find the arrows and position it next to the text to get the effect below.

Finished:
Well that is it. Hope it is what you expected. If you have, any questions or comments feel free to e-mail me or leave a message on the forum. If you are having a hard time with the tutorial email me and I will try to help.

Yesterday on the 15th of October my gallery went down for some unknown reason. I was able to get the backup of the images, i just lost all the users. The gallery was not that active but i am sill pissed about what happened. I am in the process of reloading the gallery. Just give me some time and it should be up and running.
