Tape Effect - Learn how to create a realistic looking tape down paper effect.
Introduction: In this tutorial I will teach you how to create a realistic looking tape effect for your images. If you are having problems feel free to e-mail us, or post a message on the forum.
 

In this tutorial, I will teach you how to create the tape effect above.

Step1: Setting up work space.
Create a new image using the dimension  800 x 600. Set the background color to white, this can change depending on where you want to place the Tag. Create a new layer, LayerNew Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N).

Step2: Creating the paper and tape.
Creating a paper as shown below using this color #f6f4c3

Create a new layer, LayerNew Layer... (Shift+Ctrl+N). Using the Rectangular Tool create the small rectangle shown below.

Right click on the small rectangle layer, select Blending Options and add the effects below.

Drop Shadow

 

Outer Glow

 

Color Overlay

Click ok to apply the settings. With that you should have the image below.

Using the you can position it as shown in the image. Zoom into the image using the Polygonal lasso tool make the ends of the take a little ripped up as shown below.

With that your image should look like the image below.

News Update [10/16/07]
Yesterday on the 15th of October my gallery went down for some unknown reason. I was able to get the backup of the images, i just lost all the users. The gallery was not that active but i am sill pissed about what happened. I am in the process of reloading the gallery.
